About This Blog

The Indie Book Writers Blog is written by Keith Ogorek, senior vice president of marketing of Author Solutions, LLC.

With Keith’s leadership, Author Solutions is helping spur the next great expansion of publishing by introducing new technologies and services to help more authors than ever before to achieve their personal publishing goals. As a self-published author himself, Keith is able to offer a unique perspective as both an author and industry thought leader.

Through the Author Services brands, Author Solutions has become the leader in self-publishing, the fastest-growing segment in number of titles published over the past five years. That experience of working with more than 170,000 authors and 200,000 titles has helped Author Solutions develop Publishing Services platforms that enable publishers, retailers, communities, and printers to become a publisher for the first time or dramatically reduce costs of the business.

More authors, publishers, and organizations can generate revenue by publishing books than ever before.

  1. This blog is most appreciated — it’s very helpful and insightful. As a copy editor and adviser for a young author who is trying to self publish, I am seeking advise on what steps to take when the publishing company errs and doesn’t offer effective or timely solutions to correct their mistakes. Are there posts that cover that topic?

Thanks for the comment. I don’t know if you are referring to a specific situation or just a general question, but I think the key is to always go back to the contract whether you are publishing with a traditional publisher or a self-publishing services company.
